A poem by Sharifa Ahmadi

A mural in progress by Shamsia Hassani

Art itself is a language
A language that doesn’t belong to black or white
Muslim or Christian, women or men, elder or young
From deep inside our hearts we clearly understand it

Put your pleasant or unpleasant story in art
Draw what oppressions you tolerate in it
Draw the emotions you have in it

Let art speak louder than your voice
Let art inform one and all
