I wake up in the morning with hope
Hope for your bright future
Hope to forget your past
Hope of chasing your goal

I start working on my plan for you
I want to make you beautiful
To have you perfect
For you to be great

I work for you my beloved country
Despite your awful background
Even though strangers occupy your land
I work to make you unique in the world

Every day your people witness
the killing of innocents
the targeting of citizens
I see the destruction of your lands

Sometimes I don’t know where I am
Am I in the hell?
Am I in the fire?
Am I in the mountain?
Because nobody is safe here

Beloved Afghanistan,
I don’t know who I am
I wonder if I’m animal or human
I wonder if I am Afghan
I lost myself as an Afghan here

And so the killing of your citizens
continues on the streets, homes and mosques
The killing of people in Jaghori, Malistan and Urzgan
Indeed, the killing of people wherever we walk

Beloved Afghanistan
Everywhere we look
there is blood, gunfire
and slaughter
Bomb blasts, suicide attacks and war
Terror, injury and martyrdom

My Afghanistan my love always
When I go to school you are my hope
When I go to work you are my thought
When I go to bed you are my dream
