The Importance of the English Language in Daily Life

The English language is the key to prosperity. It is an international language. There are millions of people around the world in 49 countries who speak English. By learning the English language we can communicate with other people and acquire information in English that can help our people promote their businesses and strengthen the economy of our country. We can learn about skills for daily life, and about religions, science and technologies that have been developed in English speaking countries.

The English language has many uses and those who know English can do many things like: travel out of the country, find an occupation and work on the computer/internet. They have a bright future, as well. Yes, there are many people who have learned English. This language has a lot of advantages for all and they feel so much more positive after they have learned it. People in non-English speaking countries who learn English can change their lives as well as change the lives of people in their country.

About the Author: Freshta Ahmadi is 18-years-old and lives in Bamyan, Afghanistan. She is a top student in her English classes at school where she is in the 12th grade and in second position. She studies at Pioneer Educational and Cultural Organization as well. Her activism focuses on education, children’s rights and women’s rights in impoverished communities. In her home classroom she teaches 25 students many subjects including writing in Dari and English. She also served recently as a volunteer for the Polio vaccination campaign in her community.
